Puppy Power! Puppy Foundation Class
Help your puppy thrive and grow into the super dog you know they can be. Training in our group classes is focused on building a sturdy foundation for lifelong habits.
In addition to providing an opportunity for puppies to safely socialize, students learn how to train their puppies and puppies are taught how to learn new skills using positive reinforcement with clicker training.
This sets students up to not only have a set of cues and behaviors they can use to communicate with their puppy, but also a simple way to teach new behaviors and troubleshoot their training in the future. We’ve got classes available on Tuesday evenings, Wednesday evenings, and Saturday mornings.

Open enrollment - Start when you’re ready!
You can register on this page to start puppy class any week there’s an opening. The lessons your puppy learns about socialization and new situations before they are 3 months old can make a big impact on their future, so we provide an opportunity for puppies to start as soon as possible. You can read the American Veterinary Society for Animal Behavior’s position statement on early socialization by clicking here.
Small, indoor classes
We accept up to five puppies in class so you get plenty of individual support while you and your puppy are learning.
Age & vaccine requirements - over 8 weeks, less than 6 months
On their class start date, puppies should be over 8 weeks and under 6 months. They must have had a visit with your veterinarian, been dewormed, be following a proper vaccination schedule, and at least 10 days must have passed since their first core vaccine was given. They do not need to be fully vaccinated in order to start our class.
If your puppy is close to 6 months old, you can discuss their enrollment with us to see if our class for adolescent dogs might be more appropriate.
For puppies between 8 weeks and 15 weeks old, you may choose to register them for the Project Puppy: Play and Socialization Class prior to starting Puppy Power! Puppy Foundation Training Class.
Enrollment includes 6 consecutive sessions
Your enrollment will include 6 consecutive sessions, meeting once a week for one hour.
Continued training options
After you complete the Puppy Power! Puppy Foundation Class, you may choose to continue your puppy’s training by joining our Practice Makes Progress: Level 2 class, followed by our Woof! San Diego Training Club Class to keep building your puppy’s skills and your bond together.
