PRIVATE DOG OR PUPPY TRAINING LESSONS:

The hourly rate for private sessions is $110/hour.  The following training packages are available to meet your dog or puppy’s specific needs, and they can all be customized or adjusted to your preferences and your dog’s training requirements.

Many students enjoy holding private obedience lessons at Morley Field in North Park, for an added challenge.  

PRIVATE OBEDIENCE AND MANNERS TRAINING PACKAGE:
These Obedience training lessons are private sessions and can either be held in a location of your choosing.  Private Obedience packages are $400, which includes four private training sessions, each lasting one hour (usually held once per week). Students and their dogs will learn basic obedience cues such as sit, down, stay, come when called, loose leash walking, leave it, watch, and in addition,work through problem behaviors you may be experiencing such as chewing, digging, greeting strangers and jumping. In addition to including the basic obedience cues above, the lesson plan is adjusted to fit each student’s individual needs.

PRIVATE INTERMEDIATE TRAINING PACKAGES:
For dogs or puppies who have completed basic obedience training, intermediate training packages are designed to build upon the training foundation you have built.  Lessons are taught with a focus on real life situations and performance of more difficult behaviors.  Behaviors can include:  Go to Mat, Watch, Down from a Distance, Advanced Leash Walking, Stay with Distractions and Come with Distractions, including door-dashing.  This package is $400 and includes four one-hour private training sessions.

ADVANCED AND ADDITIONAL TRAINING:
Private lessons are also currently offered at the same price as private basic obedience lessons for students who have had previous training and want to brush up on their old skills or add challenges to what they already know.

BEHAVIOR MODIFICATION AND PROBLEM SOLVING:
Behavior modification involves changing an inappropriate behavior into an appropriate one.  It could involve building confidence for a nervous dog, calming a reactive dog, stopping problem behaviors such as jumping on visitors, and a variety of other things.  Problem solving includes specific help with behaviors you are experiencing such as chewing, barking, digging, jumping up, counter surfing, etc.  Private training is offered for behavior modification and problem solving on an hourly basis, and packages can be created.

SEMI-PRIVATE CLASS FOR PUPPIES OR DOGS IN NORMAL HEIGHTS

Semi-private classes are offered for students looking to combine the personal attention of private training with the socialization perks of a group class.  These classes are taught in packages of four, similar to private training sessions.  Each class lasts one hour, and a four week class covers the basic manners and obedience training topics such as Sit, Down, Stay, Come, Leave It, Drop It, and Leash Walking.  There is a maximum of three dogs in each class.  Dogs entering this class must be comfortable with other dogs and people in the classroom environment and must be up to date on all vaccinations.

This class officially begins when there are exactly three students. To join a semi-private class, you must complete the enrollment form and then provide a credit card number over the phone to hold your place in class.

TRAIN WITH A FRIEND PROGRAM

This is a custom training package for you and a friend, relative, neighbor, or co-worker (larger groups also welcome).  If you’ve both got a dog who needs some training, Erin will come to a location convenient to your group and teach private classes to you and your group.  Email Erin to set up your personalized training experience with the people and dogs you want to share it with!   Contact Erin for pricing details based on the size of your group and the number of sessions.

NEW CLASS FORMAT COMING SOON!  LIFE SKILLS / MANNERS CLASSES

Erin is developing a new class format that will focus on ongoing training for all ages and learning levels.  These classes will be taught in Normal Heights and will help dog owners teach their dogs cues and contexts and encourage appropriate behavior such as sitting for petting, focusing while passing distractions, responding to cues to Come, laying calmly on a bed or mat, loose leash walking, etc.  In this class, the cues will be taught through the real life situations they apply to.  There will be an introductory class where students will come without their dogs to learn the basics, and then begin the class with other puppies or dogs.  Because the curriculum and format are still being developed, there is no start date scheduled at this time.  If you’d like to teach your dog to have good manners in the real world and are interested in this class format, please email Erin for more information.
